TAHLEQUAH — Memorial services for Helena Jean Sheridan will be held on Wednesday, Dec. 1, 2010, at 2 p.m. at the Reed-Culver Funeral Chapel.
Interment will take place at New Hope Cemetery near Hulbert.
Helena Jean Sheridan was born on Dec. 22, 1949 in Tahlequah, the daughter of Frank and Stella (Scraper) Sheridan. After graduating from Sequoyah High School, she attended classes at NSU.
In 1970, she married Yahola Tiger Jr. in Tahlequah. This union was blessed with three sons: Yahola or Seymour, Clinton, and Matthew. Helena loved to spend time with her children and grandchildren. Family always came first with her and she enjoyed making Sunday and holiday dinners for her family.
She had a wonderful sense of humor and you could be sure laughter would be added to any family gathering. Helena was an avid fan of Elvis Presley music and also collected butterflies.
A Christian by faith, she was a member of the New Hope Baptist Church near Hulbert.
The Lord called Helena to her eternal home on Thursday, Nov. 25, 2010. in Tahlequah, with her family gathered at her side. She was 60 years old. She will be greatly missed by her family and many friends.
Helena is preceded in death by her mother, and her aunt and uncle, Margaret and Clinton Scraper.
Those left to cherish her memory include her three sons, Yahola "Seymour" Tiger III and his wife Tonya of Fort Gibson, Clinton Tiger and wife Leanna of Tahlequah, and Matthew Tiger of Tahlequah. Her legacy lives on in her adored six grandchildren, Yahola "Tony" Tiger IV, and Nathan Tiger of Fort Gibson, Courtney Tiger, Stella Tiger, and Jacob Wheeler and Daniel Tiger all of Tahlequah. Helena also leaves many cousins and a very special friend, Albert Gatter.
