Jennie Mae (Guthrie) Morris, age 79 of Proctor, OK, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, March 13, 2013, at her home. Jennie Mae was born on February 5, 1934, in Westville, OK, the daughter of the late William Loy Guthrie and Clista Bess Mullin. She was preceded in death by her late husband, Jess Morris, who she married on August 3, 1951; her sister, Ione Guthrie Carson of Owasso, OK, and brother, Harold Guthrie of Westville, OK. Her strong will to live, unwavering faith in God, and the love and prayers of family and friends carried her through her final years of declining health. Before this time she enjoyed meeting people as part owner of Stevenson's L.P. Gas Service and The Chance Store. She was employed by Skelly School as a teacher's assistant for twelve years. During this time she left a lasting impression on students as they called her "Granny". She is survived by three daughters, Glenda Sue Molloy and her husband Eddie Molloy of Tahlequah, OK; Kathie Morris of Proctor, OK; Bridgett Barnett Phillips and her husband Danny Phillips of Resaca, GA; and Bridgett's father Elvin Herman Barnett of Tulsa, OK. Five grandchildren, Dell Molloy and his wife Ariane of Tahlequah, OK; Michelle Taylor of Proctor, OK, and her friend Pete Simmons; Dana Daniels and her husband Dustin of Tahlequah, OK; Danielle Phillips and Sage Phillips of Resaca, GA. Four great grand-children, Maci Dale, Trevor Taylor, Cynch Daniels and Wyatt Molloy. Sisters Loylea Dundom and her husband Mick of Clearfork, OK; Joyce Noble of Owasso, OK; and brother Donvil Guthrie and his wife Gloria Jo of Clearfork, OK and sister-in-law, Maegene Guthrie of Chewey, OK. She is also survived by several nieces and nephews. Funeral Services for Jennie Mae Morris were held on Saturday, March 16, at 2 pm in the Roberts & Hart Funeral Home in Westville, OK, with Terry Guthrie and Danny Crittenden officiating. The family will receive family and friends of Friday, March 15 from 5 pm to 8 pm. Music will be presented by the Guthrie family. Interment will follow the service in the New Hope Cemetery Chance, OK. Active pallbearers are Eddie Molloy, Danny Phillips, Dell Molloy, Dustin Daniels, Terry Guthrie, David Guthrie, Pete Simmons. Honorary pallbearers are Elvin Herman Barnett and Mick Dundom.
