Services for Dollie Lucille Hefner-Hutchinson will be held Monday, Sept. 17, at 2 p.m., at the Reed-Culver Chapel, with Pastor Margaret Hatchett of Keys Church of God officiating. Burial will follow at New Home Cemetery in Peggs.

Visitation will be held on Sunday, Sept. 16, from 1 to 6 p.m., at Reed-Culver Chapel.

Pallbearers for Dollie include Robert Hutchinson, Kyle Hutchinson, Allen Hefner, Berkley Hefner, Brian Mayfield and Jerry Hatchett. Honorary pallbearer is Bob Christie.

Dollie Lucille Hefner-Hutchinson was born on July 21, 1927, in Three Sands, the daughter of Willie Walters and Bessie Bright (Holmes) Levings.

She received her associate's degree from Oklahoma A&M as a medical assistant, and as a dental assistant in Enid. She was also a dental assistant instructor and wrote the dental assistant curriculum manual for the state of Oklahoma.

She met and married her first husband, Jack Hefner. This union was blessed with one son, Jack Hefner, and a relationship that lasted until her husband Jack's passing in 1997. In 1999, Dollie married Robert Hutchinson in Eureka Springs, Ark.

Dollie was a woman of many talents. She was born with a green thumb, and every flower and vegetable she planted flourished. Then she took her produce and lovingly canned it for her family. Her jelly was excellent. She was gifted with a needle and could sew about anything from clothing to arts and crafts of various variety. She was a photographer, and could make the lens capture images that intrigued the eye.

She loved people. She was quick with a smile, made you feel at ease anytime she spoke and went out of her way to help the stranger, of whom she knew few.

A Christian by faith, Dollie was a member of the Keys Church of God. She was known as the queen of peanut brittle sales for the church, and always said she was doing this service for God. She loved helping the church. She wanted to help others any way she could.

She adored her family, and loved any amount of time she had with them sharing a meal, a laugh, or a cup of coffee. Her grandchildren were her delight. She enjoyed any activity they participated in, and was their No. 1 fan.

The Lord called Dollie home from her labors on Sept. 10, in Tahlequah, with her loving family by her side. She was 85 years old.

Dollie is already missed by her family and friends for that caring smile and loving hands that worked so hard for the benefit of others.

Dollie is preceded in death by her parents; brother, Walter Thomas Levings; sister, Betty Lou Levings; first husband, Jack Hefner; and son, Jack Dwain Hefner.

Those left to cherish her memory include her loving husband, Robert, of the home in Tahlequah; stepson Robert Hutchinson and wife Tracy, of Keys; and daughter-in-law, Helen Hefner, of Garfield, Ark. She is survived by one brother, Reuel Levings and wife Doris, of Peggs; and two sisters, Sarah Bardesis-Gulley and husband Jim, of Peggs, and Wanda Mayfield and husband Jim, of Peggs. Her legacy lives on in her four grandchildren, Jack “Berkley” Hefner and wife Jessica, of Moodys, Alan Hefner and wife Kayleigh, of Tahlequah, Sarah Ann Hutchinson of Muskogee, and Kyle Hutchinson, who is attending college in Texas.

Dollie's three great-grandchildren include Montana Hefner, Alora Hefner and Lillian Hefner; step-granddaughter, Kyndra Marsh and husband Cody, of Hulbert, and step–great–grandchildren, Alexis Marsh and Bella Marsh, as well as many nieces, nephews, cousins and a host of friends and loved ones.
