Raymond Allen Botts was born on Jan. 16, 1954, in Chillicothe, Texas, the son of William Henry and Iva Lena (Jenkins) Botts. He was raised at home with three brothers and four sisters and attended school in Oktaha, before deciding on a career in construction, building towers. When he wasn't traveling around the world to such destinations as England, Nigeria, Algeria, Australia and Scotland building hundreds of towers, he was home and getting ready to go hunting. He loved to hunt, especially deer, coon, and rabbits. He also liked to spend a day fishing, and enjoying the water. Raymond had a wonderful sense of humor, and possessed the ability to make everyone around him comfortable and smile. He liked riding and raising horses, and was always happy to be around home. He enjoyed any chance he had to spend with his family, and always took the chance to tease his family. He was never one to let life pass him by, and enjoyed every moment he had.

His life was all too brief, and Raymond passed from this life on Thursday, July 2, 2015, in Tulsa. He was 61 years old. He will be greatly missed. Raymond is preceded in death by his grandparents; parents; one son, Jake Botts in 1983; one brother, Randy Andy Botts; and two sisters, Lucy Maureen Price and Shirley Jean Young. Those left to cherish his memory include his sons, Joe Lee Botts of Sapulpa, and John Botts of Hulbert. He leaves his brothers and sisters, Will Botts and wife Carol Ann of Hulbert, Bobby Botts and wife Betty also of Hulbert, Wanda Lee Botts of Camp Verde, Ariz., and Iva Ruth Wurtzel and husband Kent of Campbell, Texas. He has one half brother and one half sister, Dale Wallace of Hulbert, and Ruby Riley of Clarksville, Texas. His legacy and love of life lives on in his five grandchildren, and many nieces, nephews, cousins, aunts, uncles, as well as a host of friends and loved ones.
