Funeral Services for Janice Nadine Laws will be held Tuesday March 12, 2013 at 2:00 p.m. at the Hart Funeral Home Chapel with Bro. Bill Peters officiating. Interment will follow in the Levi-Cookson Cemetery under the care and direction of Hart Funeral Home of Tahlequah, Oklahoma.

Janice Nadine Laws the daughter of Wallace C. and Betty (Scraper) Garner was born August 18, 1961 in Siloam Springs, Arkansas and departed this life on March 7, 2013 in Tahlequah, Oklahoma at the age of 51 years, 6 months and 17 days.

Janice enjoyed life. She enjoyed fishing, basket weaving and spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren. Janice spent her life working with the Cherokee people in different capacities such as Housing, where she served as the Housing Director for the United Keetoowah Band of the Cherokees, and working at the Heritage Center. She had a heart for the Foster Grandparent Program in the Public School System and was very involved in that program for many years. Janice touched many lives in the different capacities where she served and will be dearly missed by all who knew and loved her.

She was preceded in death by her parents. Janice is survived by a loving family which includes her children Trevor Garner and Chelsea Laws both of Tahlequah; 4 brothers Wallace B. (Bucky) Garner of Big Spring, TX, Wayne C. Garner of Wilburton, OK, Ricky Garner and wife Carol of Muskogee, OK, and Raymond Garner and wife Kim of Tahlequah, OK; 4 sisters Cynthia Brooks of Pleasant View, TX, Carolyn Vouklizas and husband Don of Ft. Worth, TX, Mary Ann Bristow and husband George of Cookson, OK and Vivian Cottrell and husband Ron of Grove, OK; and 2 grandchildren Jade Garner and Lane Avery Wolfe. Many nieces, nephews, friends and other loved ones also survive her.
