Graveside services for Paulette Sue Wilson will be held at 2 p.m., Monday, Nov. 12, 2012, at the Cookson-Proctor Cemetery in Cookson, under the direction of Hart Funeral Home.

Paulette Sue Wilson was born to John C. Hurst and Verna L. Hurst at home near Orlando, Okla., Sept. 26, 1942. The family later moved to a farm near Kenoma, Mo. She departed this life on Nov. 8, 2012, in Park Hill, at the age of 70 years, one month and 13 days.

After graduating from Golden City, Mo., High School, she moved to Kansas City, Mo., to work at Skelly Oil Company, and after 12 years she was transferred to Tulsa. Paulette married William L. “Moon” Mullens in April 1970 in Tulsa. They retired and moved to the Tenkiller Lake area.

Moon Mullens passed away from this life in 1980. Paulette married Wayne M. Wilson Sr. in April 1982, and he passed from this life in November 2007.

Paulette was the co-owner of Wilson Small Engine and Hardware in Cookson. She was an active member of the Cookson United Methodist Church, and many community organizations including: Tenkiller Community Organization, of which she served as secretary; she served on the board of directors and secretary of the Cookson Volunteer Fire Department; she also served as president, secretary and treasurer of Cherokee Land Yacht Harbor. She enjoyed genealogy and was the family historian. Paulette touched many lives and will be dearly missed by all who knew and loved her.

She was preceded in death by her parents; five siblings, Ada Bell Hurst-Barnard, Walter Lee Hurst, Sarah Mae Hurst-Gates, Lois Elaine Hurst, and John Duane Hurst.

She is survived by a loving family, which includes her stepson Wayne M. Wilson Jr. of Bethany, Oklahoma; sisters, Patsy Ann Irwin and husband Wayne of Manteca, Calif., and Dorothy Ruth Hurst Miller of Bella Vista, Ark.; and sister-in-law Emily Avila Hurst of Stockton, Calif. Many nieces, nephews, friends and other relatives also survive her. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to a charity of choice.
