Rosie Etta Philpott was born on September 7, 1928 in Eldon, Oklahoma to Jim and Leona (English) Philpott and passed from this life to be with her Lord on Friday, October 25, 2013 in West Siloam Springs, Oklahoma at the age of 85 years, 1 month and 18 days.

Rosie worked as a nurse to help support her family. She was also a prayer warrior and worked for the Lord. Rosie was a warm, loving woman, who cared for all she met and would help anyone in need. She loved to bake for her family and friends. When Rosie smiled, she lit up the room. She was loved by many.

She was preceded in death by her parents: Jim and Leona Philpott, husband: Tom Gatewood, son: Billy Gatewood, several brothers, sisters and two grandchildren.

She is survived by her children: Calvin Gatewood and wife Darlene of Tahlequah, OK, C.J. Gatewood and wife Janet of Clarksville, TN, Charles Gatewood and wife Betty of Siloam Springs, AR, Roger Gatewood of Colcord, OK, Marilyn Sawney and husband Bodie of Colcord, Rosalee West and husband Jim of Colcord, Linda Bradley and husband Bill of Stilwell, OK, 12 grandchildren, several great grandchildren, brothers: Wes Philpott and wife Glenna of Tahlequah, Lawrence Buck Philpott of Stilwell, Bill Philpott of Tahlequah, sisters: Florence Young of Jay, OK, Betty Rottrammel of Proctor, OK, Florene Young of Proctor, Lorene Poteet of Tahlequah, Ruthie Philpott of Tahlequah.

Rosie is also survived by many other relatives and friends.

Graveside services at 2 pm on Friday, November 1, 2013 at Cobb Family Cemetery, Briggs, Ok with Bro. Jerry Wayne Gatewood officiating. Interment to follow.
