Archie D. Dirteater, of Stilwell, was born, Tuesday, Nov. 22, 1966, in Muskogee to Leon Dirteater Sr. and Nannie Christie and he died Monday, May 3, 2010 in Tahlequah at the age of 43 years, 5 months and 9 days.

He was a member of the Cedar Tree Baptist Church. He worked with the Bailey Rodeo Stock Contractors and traveled the country with the Baileys for several years, and also worked construction.

He is preceded in death by his parents; grandfather, George Christie; and a nephew, Billy "Bozo" Davis.

He is survived by his sons, Archie Clint Dirteater and Blake Andrew Dirteater; brothers, Leon Dirteater Jr. and wife Terri Ann of Welling, Curtis Dirteater and wife Ruby of Welling, and Randy Dirteater and wife Melitha of Hulbert; sisters, Mary Jo Hammons of Briggs, Linda Stacy and husband Bill of Welling, Brenda Dirteater of Welling, and Jane Dirteater-Davis of Tahlequah; and grandchildren, McKenzie Madison and Hunter Landon. He also has very special friends in Bubby Bailey and Zelma Bailey.

Funeral services will be at 11 a.m. Friday, May 7, 2010, in the Reed-Culver Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Jess French officiating. Burial will follow in the Cedar Tree Cemetery.
