Webb Dick

Sept. 26, 1962 ~ May 13, 2011

Webb "Sa-mi" Dick went to be with the Lord on May 13, 2011. He was born to Jim Dick and Josephine Gibson Sept. 26, 1962 at W.W. Hastings Hospital in Tahlequah. Webb spent most of his life in Cherokee County, growing up in the Eldon, Willis, and Briggs communities. He attended Briggs Elementary and Tahlequah Public School.

As a young boy, he loved playing softball with his brother, Richard. He grew into a natural athlete. He enjoyed snow skiing and water skiing, but his true passion was horses. He taught himself to rope and spent many hours on horseback. Other hobbies included playing billiards, camping, and swimming. He had presented his girls with gifts showing his talent in yet another hobby, beadwork. Webb was an accomplished backhoe operator and worked in construction for 20 years.

In 1990, Webb married Deena Secratt. They had two daughters, Jillian and Jorden. They made their home in Sequoyah County. He was very proud of his daughters: Jillian, a good mother to grandson Colter; and Jordie, a good student and softball player. In 2007, he came to know Christ in Pitcher.

Webb was preceded in death by his father, Jim Dick, in 2004, and his nephew, James Reb Garner, in 1999.

Webb leaves behind his daughters, Jillian Celesse Curry and Jorden Suzanne Dick, and one grandson, Colter Drake Curry, all of Sallisaw; two brothers, Billy Ray Dick, and Richard Dick and wife Carla, and two sisters, Judy Garner and husband Tommy, and Georgia Ann Dick, all of Tahlequah; eight nieces and nephews, and 14 great-nieces and nephews.

Services will be Thursday, May 19, at 1 p.m. at the Elm Tree Baptist Church with Rev. D.J. McCarter officiating. Burial will be at the Cedar Tree Cemetery. Arrangements are under the direction of Hart Funeral Home in Tahlequah. The family is asking people to sign the online guest book, at www.hartfuneralhome. net.
