Wilma Louise Spradlin, the daughter of Ralph Russell and Mary (Adams) Thompson, was born Oct. 4, 1927, in Vian, and departed this life on March 20, 2012, at her home in Tahlequah, at the age of 84 years, 5 months and 16 days.
Wilma loved gardening and enjoyed her flower beds. She enjoyed singing and loved going to church. The most important thing in her life was her family. She enjoyed getting together with her family, and spending time with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Wilma touched many lives and will be dearly missed by all who knew and loved her.
Wilma was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Walter Lawton Spradlin; daughters, Verbia Cheek and Vickie Jeffries; son, Bobby Spradlin; brothers, Bill Thompson, Rocky Thompson, Virgil Thompson and Walter Thompson; and sisters, Gladys Brown, Juanita Ulcer and Pauline Thompson.
Wilma is survived by a loving family which includes her children, Billy Lawton Spradlin and wife Anna Mae of Moody, Buddy Spradlin of Tahlequah, Velma Davis and husband Jerry of Tahlequah, Verna Osburn of Stilwell, Verjana Taylor of Tahlequah, and Valerie Franco of Catoosa; sister, Virginia Thompson of Vian; 25 grandchildren, 55 great-grandchildren and 25 great-great-grandchildren. Many nieces, nephews, friends and other relatives also survive her.
The children want to express a special thank you to grandson, Billy Dean Anson, for the love and support that he has shown in support for his grandmother over the past few months. He moved in and helped cook meals, getting her up and down when she needed to, helping in any way that his grandmother needed him to.
