Wanda Pauline (Anderson) Cochran Tahlequah Daily Press

TAHLEQUAH — Funeral services for Wanda Cochran, 75, of Tahlequah, will be at 10 a.m. Wednesday, Dec. 21, 2011, at the First Baptist Church, Tahlequah.
Officiating will be Rev. Clayton Sellers and Pastor Buddy Hunt. Pallbearers are Ben Cochran, Luke Cochran, Mark Cochran, Daniel Cochran, Paul Cochran, Matt Cochran, Bobby Joe McAlpine III, Joshua McAlpine, Blake Cochran and Matt Eschberger.
Interment will follow in the Blue Springs Cemetery under the care of Green Country Funeral Home. Online condolences may be left at tahlequhafuneral.com.
Wanda Pauline (Anderson) Cochran was born Dec. 23, 1935, to William Roy Anderson and Kanzada Pauline( Spears) Anderson in Tahlequah.
She attended Massena and Bagley schools, and studied accounting at Northeastern State University.
She married Dwight Cochran on Oct. 4, 1954. They were blessed with four children: Steve Cochran and wife Jan of Alexandria, La., Rex Cochran and wife Diane of Harrison, Ark., Janet McAlpine and husband Bobby of Tahlequah, and James Cochran and wife Amy, also of Tahlequah.
She had 13 cherished grandchildren: Ben, Luke, Mark and Mandi Cochran, Daniel, Paul and Matt Cochran, Sheena Stilwell, Bobby Joe McAlpine III, Joshua McAlpine, and Jennifer Eschberger, and Tifffany and Blake Cochran. She had 10 precious great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents, and two brothers, Willian Lee (Bill) Anderson and Dale Wayne Anderson.
Wanda is survived by her husband; her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren; and her sister, Norma Jean Todd, and brother Anthony Anderson.
She and husband Dwight owned numerous businesses, including Cochran's Egg Farm and Ranch, Tahlequah Mill and Elevator, Cochran's Tax Service, numerous rental properties, as well as many other business entities.
She was a professed Christian, and a member of Blue Springs Baptist Church for over 40 years, and also attended Cornerstone Fellowship.
Wanda was loved immensly by her family and friends, and she loved spending time with them all.
She loved tending to her flower gardens and would spend hours making them beautiful. She loved to travel and never met a stranger. She lived her life to the fullest and had taught us all many lessons.
Services for Dwight Cochran, 83, of Tahlequah will be Wednesday, May 9, at 2 p.m., at the First Baptist Church of Tahlequah. Officiating will be Rev. Clayton Sellers. Dwight was born Aug. 29, 1928, at Etta Bend area of Welling, the son of Jess and Georgia Latty Cochran. He went to be with the Lord and reunite with Wanda on May 5, 2012, from Tahlequah.
He married Wanda Anderson on Oct. 4, 1954. Dwight had served in the U.S. Air Force as a staff sergeant. Although he was a private, single engine, pilot, his passion was fishing. For greater than 40 years, he and friends often traveled to Toledo Bend in Texas for fishing excursions that lasted weeks at a time. Enjoying travel he had been to all 50 states and fished in most of them.
He has been preceded in death by his wife, Wanda; parents; brother, Bill Cochran; and sister, Frieda Cochran Powell.
Surviving him are all of his children, grandchildren and great-great-grand children; sisters, Pauline Green and husband Doyle of Tahlequah, and Carolyn Karinen and husband Dennis of St. Louis, Mo.
