October 23, 2019Submitted by: Jan Grooms Twilia Suelene Hudson the daughter of Houston “Duggan” and Violet (Lisenbee) Briggs was born July 8, 1948 in Tahlequah, Oklahoma and departed this life on October 20, 2019 in Stilwell, Oklahoma at the age of 71 years, 3 months and 12 days.
Twilia enjoyed life and she loved her family. She had a passion for education. She had earned a Master's Degree in education and taught second grade up to High school at several different schools including: Kansas City, Okay, Tenkiller, and Greasy. She retired from Greasy Schools. She enjoyed reading and going to Branson. She was a member of the Wauhillau Holiness Church. Twilia touched many lives over the years and will be dearly missed by all who knew and loved her.
She was preceded in death by her parents Houston “Duggan” and Violet Briggs; one brother Aaron Briggs; one sister Eunice Hallum; one granddaughter Katy Elyce Studie; and two great-grandsons Hunter Burrows and Masen Coffman.
She is survived by a loving family which includes her children Timothy Hudson and wife Kathy, Randall Hudson and wife Lori and Sherry Studie and husband Jim all of Stilwell; her sisters Carolyn Pritchett and husband Toney of Proctor, Dretha Hallum and wife Donnie of Tahlequah and Clydie Cato of Sallisaw; her brother Arnold Briggs of Tahlequah; and her grandchildren Autumn, Josh and JJ and families, Angeleah, Holly, Tylor, Heather, Eric, Summer, Cody, Kaci and Travis Coffman, and Dewayne and Lekeila O'Fields, special sister-in-law, Myrtle Briggs. Many nieces, nephews, friends and other relatives also survive her.
Graveside services will be held at 11 am on Wednesday, October 23, 2019 at Barber Cemetery, Cherokee County, OK.
