September 14, 2016Submitted by: Jan Grooms Richard Lee Davis, son of James Preston Sr. and Ruby Lucille (Chuculate) Davis, was born September 18, 1961 in Tahlequah Oklahoma and departed this life on September 9, 2016 in Tahlequah at the age of 54 years.
He grew up and enjoyed his time in the Dry Creek Community. He worked in the masonry industry for many years. He had a great love for training and riding horses, playing horse shoes but most of all he enjoyed time spent with family and friends.
Richard was preceded in death by his parents; James and Ruby Davis, brothers; Harley Davis and Doyle James Davis.
He is survived by a loving family that includes his children; Tommy Studie and wife Shawnae of Welling, Brandon Davis all of Dry Creek, Sabrina Davis and husband Jeffrey Jones of Stilwell, grandchildren; Gunner, Valerie, Triston, Olivia, Jayden, Lilly and William, a very special friend and companion; Ginger Shubin, brothers; Raymond Davis and wife Letha of Ft. Worth, Texas, Andrew Davis and wife Deb of Welling, Moe Davis and wife Lucinda of Marble City, James Davis and wife Tammie of Welling, Virgil Chuculate of Texas, sisters; Dollie Looney and husband Hershal of Hungry Mountain, Sue Buckhorn and husband Leon of Tahlequah, Bonnie Davis of Stilwell, Wanda Ridge and husband Charley of Dry Creek, several nieces, nephews, other relatives and many friends also survive him.
Funeral services were held, Monday, September 12, 2016 in the Roberts/Reed- Culver Funeral Chapel with Brother Kevin Davis and Brother Jerry Henson officiating. Interment followed in the Barber Cemetery under the direction of Roberts/Reed- Culver Funeral Home.
