Bunch--Funeral services for James "Jim" Preston Davis, 89 of Bunch, will be held at 2 p.m. at the Reed-Culver Funeral Home with Rev. Charles Duvall officiating and Rev. Thomas Still giving the eulogy. Burial will follow at the Barber Cemetery under the direction of the Reed-Culver Funeral Home. Pallbearers include Jeff Davis, Michael Davis, David Looney, Charley Buckhorn, Bryah Chuculate and Kevin Davis. Honorary pallbearers include Wayne Davis, Junior Bush, Johnny Stayhome and Melvin Pack.

Jim Davis was born Dec. 21, 1912, in Cherokee County, the son of George Alexander and Melvina (Hammons) Davis and he passed form this life on Thursday, April 18, 2002 in Tahlequah.

Jim grew up in Cherokee County and lived his entire life around Bunch. He was married to Ruby Chuculate Dec. 17, 1941. He was a farmer, rancher and loved fishing and hunting.

He was preceded in death by his parents, son Doyle James Davis, sisters Mary Pack and Stella Pack and brothers Robert Davis and George Davis.

He is survived by his wife Ruby, of the home; four daughters and their husbands, Dollie and Herschel Looney of Vian, Sue and Leon Buckhorn of Briggs, Bonnie and Harold Davis of Stilwell and Wanda and Charley Ridge of Welling; seven sons and their wives, Harley and Margie Davis of Welling, Virgil Chuculate of Dallas, Texas, Raymond and Letha Davis of Cookson, James and Tammy Davis of Barber, and Richard Davis of the home; foster son Ted Heath and wife Leslie of Bunch; brothers Archie Davis of Nowata, and Louie and Daisey Davis of Welling; sisters Beulah Pack of Hungry Mountain and Becky Shepard of Etta Bend.

He also leaves behind 38 grandchildren, 40 great-grandchildren, and three great-great-grandchildren, and a very special friend Rose Murphy, along with many other relatives, loved ones and friends.
