Lone Grove - Funeral Services for Mr. James Elmer O'Dell, 74 of Lone Grove, are scheduled for 10:00 A.M. Saturday, August 31, 2019 at Stobtown Freewill Baptist Church with Darryl Howard and Royce McClendon officiating.

Interment will follow to O'Dell J- Cemetery.

Services are under the care and direction of Alexander Gray Funeral Home in Wilson. James was born October 19, 1944 in Ardmore at his home to the late Mr. Ellis Monroe O'Dell, Sr and Mrs. Lola May (Roberts) O'Dell. He departed from this life on Wednesday, August 28, 2019 at his home in Lone Grove, James was raised in Ardmore attending school at Plainview graduating in 1962. He married the former Clinta Mae Bosley in Ardmore on August 17, 1963 and they have been life long residents of the Ardmore area. James and Clinta purchased their land in 1969 eventually building their present home in 2001. In 1975, they established their own ranching and custom hay bailing business. James worked for Locke Plumbing and Dolesee for 9 years. His true love was his cattle. James enjoyed playing cards at home, attending PBR in Las Vegas and taking trips to Shreveport, LA with friends and family. He was a member of the Stobtown Freewill Baptist Church.

Preceding him in death were his parents, Ellis and Lola; brothers, Ellis "Duke" O'Dell and Richard "Red" O'Dell; and sister, Wanda O'Dell.

James is survived by his loving wife, Clinta of the home; children, Jamey May O'Dell and Danny Thomas of Burneyville, Chris Edward O'Dell of Benton, AR and Melissa Denney and husband Todd of Lone Grove; grandchildren, Lenny Meadows and wife Amanda, Mica Dawn Meadows, Kally May Rose Boozer and husband Brent, MaKenzie Allison Miller and husband Adam, Kera Mae Wood, Kevin Preston Roberts, Kaitlyne Nichole Grant, Trent Denney, Haidyne Lee Alissa VanBuskirk; 12 great grandchildren; sister in law, Laquita O'Dell of Ardmore and a host of other family and friends.

Pallbearers will be Jamey O'Dell, Lenny Meadows, Kevin Roberts, J.D. Balthrop, Bill Pierce and Kerry Wayne Jones, Honorary bearers will be Dan Harris, Larry Miller, Jerry Christian, Royce McClendon, Todd Denney, Danny Thomas and all members of the Dancing B Coffee Shop.

A gathering for friends and family will be Friday evening from 5-7 P.M. at Alexander Gray Funeral Home in Wilson.
