Funeral services for Mary Nell Emerson Price, 81, of Marietta were held at 2 p.m. Wednesday, January 5 at Alexander Gray Funeral Home Chapel, Wilson with Pastor Johnny Young officiating.

Interment followed at the Lone Grove West Memorial Cemetery.

Mary Nell was born April 15, 1940 at Rexroat to the late V.B. "Dan" and Lila Estelle Thompson Emerson. She departed this life on Friday, December 31, 2021 at her home in Marietta.

Mary Nell was raised in Oil City and attended her initial years of school at Rexroat, and then later at Wilson. She and Billy Bob Price were united in marriage on February 20, 1956 at Gainesville, Texas. They remained in this area, mostly living near Dillard, farming and ranching and working in the oilfield. They purchased the Washington Ranch in Love County in 1991, which relocated them to the Marietta area. Mary Nell and Bill have also had many successful champion racehorses throughout the years.

Mary Nell was most importantly a devoted homemaker for her family. She always made sure their home was well kept and enjoyed working in the yard. She was a kind and compassionate woman and enjoyed helping everyone. In addition to taking care of her family, she spent many long hours working in the fields baling hay. Most will remember her for her wit and humor She loved playing pranks and sharing stories. You could always count on a good laugh when around Mary Nell. She was a member of the Shady Dale Baptist Church.

Preceding her in death are her parents; son, Randy Ray Price on May 14, 2009; sister, Sue Cantrell; brother-in-law and sister-in-law, Jerry and Patsy Price; and infant granddaughter, Brenlee Sawyers,

Survivors include her loving husband, Bill of the home; son Bobby Price and wife Tammy of Marietta; daughters, Cindy Muller and husband Mark of Marietta and Sherry Sawyers and husband Shane of Wilson; sisters, Emma Miller of Ardmore, Kay Norton of Wilson and Sharon Bural of Burleson, Texas; numerous grandchildren who include Robert Landon Price, Casey Lynn Price, Jodi Marie Michael, four other grandchildren, James Cody Muller, Candice Price Jefferson, JaCoda Brook Langley, Randy Shane Ogletree and Bryar Morgan Sawyers; brother-in-law and sister-in-law, Finis and Barbara Price; and numerous great-grandchildren, nieces nephews, and other family.

Serving as pallbearers were Casey Price, Cody Muller, Dusty Michael, Bobby Jefferson, Dillon Langley and Landon Price.

Honorary bearers were Jackie Rabe, Virgil Stubblefield, A.B. Smith, Joe Berry, Timothy Titus and John Sconce.
