Vernon "LeRoy" Cogdill

Vernon Leroy Cogdill, 86, of Oklahoma City, passed away peacefully on March1st, 2023 at Ignite Medical Center in Oklahoma City.
 

"Leroy" was born on October 2nd, 1936 to Vernon and Leone Cogdill in Grady, NM. After he graduated from Amarillo high school, he attended Jr. College in El Camino, CA before serving in the Army. After his military service he attended OSU Technical college in Oklahoma City before beginning his lifelong career with Southwestern Bell/AT&T.
 

Leroy was a compassionate and kind man. He enjoyed reading about science, nature and the world around us. He was mechanically inclined and enjoyed working on old cars & motorcycles, always working on a project. He especially enjoyed restoring his classic British Rover P6's.
 

Leroy was predeceased by his mother Leone and father Vernon Cogdill and his siblings, Delbert G. Cogdill and Michael Cogdill.
 

He is survived by his wife June; his son Delbert L. Cogdill and his wife Wendy along with their children Owen and Ryan of Rochester, NH; his stepson, Cary Sharp and his wife Theresa of Lahoma, OK along with their children Brittany and Zacary; his siblings Betty Holman of Mansfield, TX, Stephen Cogdill and wife Janice of Norman, OK; Timothy Cogdill and wife Lisa of Cutler Bay, FL; and many nieces and nephews.


Graveside Services will be held at Keller Cemetery in Wilson OK on Saturday, march 18th at 11:00am.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to the American Cancer Society
