Harold James Buck was born October 6, 1929 in Bonita, Texas to Raymond Foster and Winnie Combs Buck. He passed away on Sunday, November 7, 2021.
 
Harold grew up in southern Oklahoma, graduating from Wilson High School in 1948. His first job was working in a grocery store after school and on Saturdays. He rode his bicycle to school and work every day for seven years doing this job. After he graduated, he went to work in the oil field for a pipe pulling company developing Exxon/Mobil's first water flood operation in southern Oklahoma. After about a year, he bought and operated a gasoline station during which time he met Nona Irene Day. They dated for two years and on June 16, 1950, they were married at the Emmanuel Baptist Church, Ardmore. They moved to Grand Prairie, Texas in 1951 where he began working in the aircraft industry until he was drafted into the Marine Corps in 1952. He spent two years during the Korean War stationed in California and Japan. He was discharged in 1954 at which time he and Nona returned to Grand Prairie to live and make a home where they raised three children, Ronald, Susan, and Kevin. Their ambition was to make sure their children were well-educated. Their three children all received degrees and became a successful teacher and businessmen.

Harold was preceded in death by wife, Nona Irene Day Buck; parents; sisters, Billy Ray Buck, Verna Ruth Buck O'Neal and Linda Buck Williams; and brother, Eddie Dale Buck.
 
Survivors include his children, Ronald James Buck, Susan Renee Buck Tipton and husband James, and Kevin Wayne Buck and wife Jessica; sisters, Betty Brinkerhoff, Mary Adams, and Anna Hickman; two brothers, Don Buck and Glen Buck; seven grandchildren, Daniel, David, Nathan, Kaylee, Tyler, Ethan, and Evan; and three great-grandchildren, Madeline, James, and Wyatt.
 
Serving as pallbearers will be grandchildren, Daniel Buck, David Buck, Nathan Tipton, Ethan Stithem, Evan Stithem, and Tyler Buck. Honorary pallbearers are Kaylee Tipton, Madeline Buck, James Buck, and Wyatt Tipton.
 
Services will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday, November 13 at the Marietta Church of Christ with Pastor Chase Green officiating. Interment will follow at Hillcrest Memorial Park Cemetery, Ardmore. Visitation will be Saturday from 10 a.m. until 12 p.m. at the funeral home.
