Born on January 7, 1932, in Frederick to JR and Bessie Baird, she died Sunday, September 24, 2023, in Marietta. She graduated from Frederick High School in 1949. She married the love of her life, Jimmy H. Goss, on September 30, 1950, in Frederick. Jo Ann was a drummer in her high school band. She turned down a scholarship to attend college to marry her best friend, Jimmy. She loved her husband fiercely. She was a homemaker for her three children. She loved supporting them and later in life her grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and great-great-grandchildren. she and Jimmy spent many weeks each year on trips building churches for the Southern Baptist Convention. She supported Jimmy with the Oklahoma Retired Teachers Association and Texas Retired Teachers Association. She was a member of First Baptist Church in Lone Grove.
She was preceded in death by her husband; parents; and seven sisters and brothers.
Survivors include her daughters, Debby and Rick Cramer of Overbrook, Kathy and Mark Wilson of Lone Grove, and Sheri and Mark Hinds of Overbrook; grandchildren, Brandi Cramer, Rachel Cramer, Rikki and Kevin Norman, Janey and Tony Thomas, Andy and Stacie Wilson, Sierra Hinds, and Meagan and Andrew McArthur; eight great-grandchildren; and three great-great-grandchildren.
Serving as pallbearers will be Mark Wilson, Andy Wilson, Tony Thomas, Mark Hinds, Andrew McArthur, and Marlon Goocher.
The family would like to extend their thanks to the medical staff of Love County Health Center, Lake Country Nursing Center in Marietta, Elara Caring Hospice, Brother Bruce Kirby, and the staff of Harvey-Douglas Funeral Home for their love shown to Jo Ann and the family during this time.
