(permission granted)
She was born September 15, 1955 in Wynnewood, Ok to the late Vernon Cox and Glennev (Prince) Cox. Cheryl spent most of her life in the Carter County area. She attended and graduated from Springer High School and later went on to attend Southern Oklahoma Technology Center where she studied computer processing. Cheryl met her future husband while attending school at Springer. She and Claude were married on September 7, 1973, a union that lasted 47 years. Cheryl was a devoted wife and mother. She was of the Baptist faith and spent 30 years in the mission field with her husband traveling to many places to share the love of Jesus. Cheryl was always willing to follow wherever God led her. She was known as a collector. It didn't really matter what is was. She had about 50 teapots, lighthouses, book markers and numerous other items. Cheryl had even kept her papers from high school. She also enjoyed reading, crocheting, cooking, and sewing. She loved working with kids and taught Sunday school. Cheryl enjoyed time with family and was always thinking of others. She definitely had a servant's heart.
Cheryl is preceded in death by both of her parents.
She leaves behind to forever cherish her memory, husband, Claude Williams of the home; son, Logan Williams, also of the home; brothers, Raymond Cox and wife, JoAnn of May, Tx., Don Cox and wife, Angie of Springer; and sister Virginia Walker of Healdton.
Graveside services will be Thursday at 2 p.m. at Berwyn Cemetery in Gene Autry. Services are under the care and direction of Tishomingo Funeral Home.
