Darren L. Currin, age 42, passed on to heaven suddenly on May 3, 2016 at
Baptist Integris Hospital in Oklahoma City. Darren was born in
Greenville, Texas, July 20, 1973, the son of Doyle and Glenda Currin.
He graduated from Greenville Christian School in 1991. He majored in
journalism at Southern Nazarene University and graduated in 1995.
Darren married Amy Ryan, the love of his life, on June 23, 2001. He is
the father of Kaitlyn Grace Currin, age 12, who said, “He was the best
daddy ever.”
He worked in journalism, commercial real estate and ministry at The
Journal Record, Grubb and Ellis, Sperry Van Ness, Life.Church, All
Things Fellowship and ARA Newmark.
Darren was a gifted writer who loved to tell a story the right way. He
had a heart for ministry and people and was passionate in helping them
find their purpose or chazown. He was always available to edit books and
support other writers. He had a way with kids, and they always loved
being around him.
Darren was a devoted and loving husband and Amy was his best friend. His
daughter, Kaitlyn, was his ‘pride and joy’.
Darren demonstrated his faith and love for God with his involvement in
church, teaching, writing, and ministering to others. The last thing
Darren posted on Instagram was a Bible verse, “Come, follow me, Jesus
said, and I will send you out to fish for people. At once they left
their nets and followed Him.”

He is survived by his wife, Amy Currin, of 15 years, and daughter,
Kaitlyn, of Yukon, OK; parents, Doyle and Glenda Currin of Greenville,
TX; in-laws, Larry and Gayla Ryan of Yukon, OK; sister-in-law and
brother-in-law, Kayleen and Mark Browning of Yukon, OK; brother-in-law
and sister- in-law, Brent and Bevan Ryan of Austin, TX; two nephews,
Andrew Browning and Ephrem Ryan, and four nieces, Morganne and Madison
Browning and Georgia and Tenley Ryan.
Viewing will be at Mercer Adams Funeral Home in Bethany, OK on Friday
May 6th with family present from 6 to 8 p.m. Services will be held at
Western Oaks Church of the Nazarene, 7901 N.W. 16th, Oklahoma City, OK,
Saturday, May 7th at 2 p.m. Officiating are Rev. Alan Danielson and
Rev. Philip Barnes. Graveside following at Yukon Cemetery.
