Ruby Marie Cannaday, 87, died on July 9, 2015 in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma.
She was born September 13, 1927 in Amber, Oklahoma to Garrett
Blackston and Tillie Lillie (Quick) Cluck. Ruby married Robert U. Cannaday on
August 8, 1942 in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma. They were married for 60 years until
his death in 2003. Ruby was a homemaker who loved cooking meals to share with
the whole neighborhood and had a taste for dining out at restaurants as often as
she could. She enjoyed shopping, watching old movies and was an avid fan of
Elvis Presley, along with country/western and gospel music. Ruby loved flowers
and took great pride in her beautiful garden which she enjoyed very much. She
will be deeply missed by everyone who knew her for her kind, compassionate and
generous personality.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Robert; brothers, Bill and Jake Cluck;
and sister, Catherine Strong.
Ruby is survived by her sons, Jim Cannaday, Robert Dewayne Cannaday, Kerry
Cannaday and wife Rachael; daughter, Debbie McCoy and husband Dana; brother,
George Cluck; sister, Lois Hawpe; five grandchildren and 6 great-grandchildren.
Viewing will begin at 9:00am on Tuesday, July 14 prior to the funeral service at
2:00pm at Mercer-Adams Funeral Home.
