He was born October 31, 1951 to Charlie C. and Juanita M. (North) Baker. A 1971 graduate of Putnam City West HS, he was esteemed as “a sincere and warm-hearted man and one of the finest Christians.” Sam was on the custodial staff for PC schools from 1972 until retirement in 2008. He returned in 2017 to present. In 38 years, he had perfect attendance and was never late one day. Sam was an active member of Council Road Baptist church where he was an usher and greeter. He loved exercising at the CUBE and visiting with people. He was an avid OU football fan, enjoyed flower and vegetable gardening, and fishing. He loved passing out candy to kids on Halloween, his birthday. Most of all, Sam loved his family, friends, and God.
Survivors include his
sisters, Sheila Peters and husband Art of El
Reno, and Jill Shaw and husband Ben of Yukon;
and numerous nieces and nephews that he loved
dearly. He was loved by all who knew him and
will be greatly missed.
