Betty “Pauline” Eitel, 78, of Blanchard, died Saturday, September 1, 2012 in Norman, Oklahoma. The daughter of Minnie Alice (Stephens) and Willie Joe Brown, she was born September 20, 1933 in Emet, Oklahoma. She worked for many years as a nurse’s aide. In her spare time she enjoyed quilting, sewing, gardening, and canning. She loved spending time with her family and cared deeply for them all. She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Gilbert Eitel; a daughter, Mary Alice Black; a son, Edwin Ray Smith; four sisters; and seven brothers. Pauline is survived by five sons, Roy Smith and wife Shelia of Oklahoma City, Billy Smith and wife Odessa of Union City, Jerry Smith and wife Kristi of Lexington, Kenneth Smith and wife Donna of Rush Springs, and Terry Eitel and wife Linda of Bridge Creek; two daughters, Betty Merrick and husband Larry of Wanette, and Linda Fisher and husband Bill of Oklahoma City; one brother, J.C. Brown and wife Mary of Oklahoma City; 37 grandchildren; 58 great grandchildren; 1 great-great granddaughter; life-long friend and companion, J.B. Harrell of Fillmore; and many other relatives and friends. Graveside service and burial will be at 10:00 AM, Wednesday, September 5, 2012 at the Union City Cemetery in Union City, Oklahoma.
