John Deardorf, 68 years of age passed away suddenly without warning on Monday at about 3 P.M. while working with the street cleaning department. He was in the company with "Shorty" Pierce and was shoveling garbage into a wagon when death came. The deceased is a cousin of Commissioner J.B. Deardorff and was a pioneer citizen of Canadian county, settleing a claim in 1890. He was a bachelor and resided with his niece, Mrs. Chas. Linville on West Russell. He is survived by his brother, Arthur of Kansas City, and three sisters, Mrs. Iva Carruthers of Pittsburg, KS; Mrs. Julia Yuman and Mrs. Belle Yuman of Peru, Iowa. Funeral srevices were conducted yesterday from the Presbyterian church by Rev. G.A. Swanson, and interment was in the Red Hill cemetery near Mustang.
