Henry “Hank” George Brueggen passed away Oct. 25, 2024, at home in Bethany.
 

Hank was born to Theodore “Ted” Brueggen and Pauline Jacobs on July 17, 1947, in El Reno. He was raised east of Okarche, where he graduated high school in 1965.

He attended Oklahoma State University of Technical Training in Okmulgee.

Hank married Carla Wallace on Aug. 10, 1973. They settled in Bethany.

He worked in diesel engine mechanics and opened Hank’s Turbo Diesel in 1987. He also farmed in Canadian and Kingfisher counties.
 

Hank is survived by his wife, Carla Brueggen, of the home; two daughters and their husbands, Beth and Bradley “Peanut” McCoy of Glendora, Calif., and Laura and L. Dale German of Bethany; grandchildren Ruth and Lydia McCoy and Dale George German; nephew James and Christi Brueggen and children Michael and Anna of Edmond; nephews Oliver Wallace of Edmond, Isaac Wallace of Stillwater and Abraham Wallace of Cincinnati, Ohio; and other relatives and many friends.
 

Hank was preceded in death by his parents, Ted and Pauline Brueggen, and brother, Mike Brueggen.


Visitation was 5-7 p.m., Wednesday, Oct. 30, at Mercer- Adams Funeral Service, Bethany.


Funeral services will be 10 a.m. Thursday, Oct. 31, at St. Marks Global Methodist Church, 8140 NW 36 St., Bethany, with the Rev. Randy Wade and Dr. Keith Cressman officiating.


Interment will be 11:30 a.m. at Oakland Cemetery, northeast of El Reno.
