Merline Levi (Luman) Mills passed away on October 24, 2020.

Merline was born to Frank Luman and Katy (Davis) Luman in Nacogdoches County, TX, on August 10, 1922.

Merline was married to George Mills. She had one son and was a member of Piedmont Methodist Church, Piedmont Triad and a volunteer at the Piedmont Community Service Center. When she was younger she was one of the “Rosie the Riveter Girls” and was famous for having a “lead foot” when she got behind the wheel. Merline was an administrative assistant for years at Allied Materials until she retired. She loved to garden and volunteer her time to her local community. Merline was always in a good mood and always smiling. She was funny and witty but she was also strong willed and tough.

Merline is preceded in death by husband, George Mills; father, Frank Luman; mother, Katie (Davis) Luman; brothers, Grady Luman, Maurice Luman, Cleburn Luman and Otha Luman, and sister, Melba Layton.

She is survived by her caring son, Gene Anderson of Piedmont, OK; grandson, Ken Anderson and wife, Becky of Edmond, OK; two great grandchildren, Brice Anderson and Nicole; niece, Sammie Clingenpeel, and her wonderful friends, Karen Green and Virginia Pattinson.

A public visitation will be held in Merline’s honor on Wednesday October 28, 2020 from 4:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. at Chapel Hill Funeral Home at 8701 N.W. Expressway in Oklahoma City. Funeral services are private.
