He
was born Sept. 22, 1991, in Enid, Okla., to Bryan and Eloise
(Moffat) Poage. He attended Enid public schools, where he
enjoyed youth sports with his friends.
He later got involved in
competitive radio control car racing, which led his desire to
race real cars. His fascination with cars led him to begin
competitive racing in the Bandalero Series at Texas Motor
Speedway, where he was extremely accomplished.
He advanced to the Legend Car
Series, where he quickly excelled in circle track racing,
gaining nationwide recognition for his talent. This led to him
being noticed in the NASCAR community. He then advanced to the
Road Racing Series, which led him at the age of 16 to win the
B.F. Goodrich World Championship involving six countries, which
was held in Napa Valley, Calif.
He cherished his World
Championship Ring, but then chose to attend the Univ. of Okla.
instead of pursuing a career in professional racing; he
graduated in 2014. He loved being outdoors and through his close
friends at OU, he developed a passion for guns and hunting,
which he shared with many.
He will always be remembered
for being extremely mechanically gifted and for his desire to
accommodate anyone’s needs.
Cody is survived by his father,
Bryan, and wife Bippy of Okla. City; mother, Eliose Poage, of
Enid; brother, Kevin Poage of Enid; grandmother, Odessa Moffat,

Funeral services will be held
11 a.m., Thursday, Jan. 14, 2016, at the Piedmont First United
Methodist Church, with burial following in Mathewson cemetery.
