The funeral for Dietrich "Dick" Zum Mallen, 95, who died Sunday at Okarche Memorial Hospital, will be at 2 p.m. today at St. John's Lutheran Church in Okarche.  The Rev. Gary Trowbridge will officiate.

Burial will be in the St. John's Lutheran Cemetery under the direction of Sanders Funeral Service, Kingfisher.

He was born Nov. 27, 1894, in Crescent City, Ill., to Dietrich & Mary Meyer Sum Mallen.  He moved to a farm near Okache in 1914, and on May 14, 1925 married Louise Schulze at Ada.  They moved into Okarche in 1953.  He was a farmer and a member of St. John's Lutheran Church and the Lutheran Laymen's League.

Surviving are one son, Arnold of Okarche; three daughters, Elaine Roth of Livermore, Iowa, Emmalein Schroeder of Okarche and Julia Willms of Kingfisher; two brothers, Herman of El Reno and Edwin of Okarche; 11 grandchildren; and 17 great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his wife, two brothers, two sisters and one grandchild.

Memorials may be made trough the funeral home to Okarche Memorial Hospital.
