Kevin Paul Brueggen, 62, died at home Nov. 11, 2024. He was born Dec. 21, 1961, to Phil Brueggen and Mildred (Wolf) Brueggen in Okarche.
 

Kevin was raised northeast of Okarche on the family farm and graduated from Okarche High School in 1980. While in high school he completed diesel mechanics at Canadian Valley Vo-Tech.

He married Katherine “Katie” Luckinbill on Oct. 17, 1987, in Guthrie. They lived in Kingfisher for 32 years before moving to Okarche in 2019.
 

Kevin worked for Sandusky, Lemon Bros. and Rother Bros. before going to work for Pioneer Telephone Cooperative in December 1980 where he worked until retirement in April 2019.

Kevin and his brother Gerry farmed as well as did custom swathing and baling for several years. In 2011, Kevin and Katie started K & K Swathing & Baling until March 2024.

When Kevin wasn’t busy, he enjoyed hunting with his boys, family and friends.


Kevin is survived by his wife Katie; sons Kenneth (Allyson) of Okarche and Troy (Annessa) of Minco; and grandchildren Zander, Drake and Scarlett.

He is also survived by sisters Elaine Stratton, Yvonne Hicks, Evelyn Elliott and Jeanie (Malik) Nathani; one brother Rick (Darla); and sister-in-law Cindy Brueggen.


Kevin was preceded in death by his parents and brother Gerald.
 

Wake services will be at 6 p.m. Sunday, Nov. 17, at Holy Trinity Catholic Church in Okarche. Mass of Christian

Burial will also be at Holy Trinity at 10:30 a.m. Monday, Nov. 18.
 

Father Zac Boazman, Father Don Wolf and Deacon Max Schwarz will officiate with burial following at Holy Trinity Cemetery under the direction of Sanders Funeral Home.
 

Memorials may be made to Holy Trinity, St. John’s and the First Baptist Church of Okarche youth groups.
