Myong Ja (Kim) Whipple, wife, mother, grandmother, aunt and friend to many, sadly passed away on January 3, 2023 in El Reno, Oklahoma.

Myong Ja was born on February 19, 1939 in Seoul, Korea. She met Joe Whipple when he was stationed in Seoul while he served in the Army. They married and moved back to the United States in 1963, bringing with them their first son, Little Joe Ray. Later, their son Bobby was born. Myong Ja was an excellent cook, housekeeper and gardener. She loved to spend time at the lake, hosting many “crowded” sleepovers and delicious fish fry dinners with all of the family and friends. Her favorite pastime was doting over her husband Joe.

Myong Ja will truly be missed by all. Kim, as she was called by many, is survived by her husband Joe Whipple of the home, son, Joe Ray Whipple and wife Mosella, El Reno, grandchildren, Albert Berryhill, El Reno, Ashley Berryhill, El Reno, and Brooke Huber of Minco. Her great grandchildren are Alia, Maya, Albert Jr., Jordyn, Alexia, Kamille and Kamden, sister-in-laws, Judy Whipple of Kingfisher and Shirley Minter of Ft Worth, TX, and brother-in-law, Sonny Stowe of Ft Worth, TX. As well as many nieces, nephews and precious friends.

She was predeceased by her son, Bobby Whipple, sister-in-law, Dorothy Whipple Riley and brother-in-law, Raymond Jr. Whipple.

Funeral services for Myong Ja are at Wilson Funeral Home, 100 North Barker, El Reno, Oklahoma on Friday, January 6, 2023 at 10:00 am with Pastor Dylan Ward , Wesley United Methodist Church officiating.

Friends may come pay their respects at the funeral home on Thursday, January 5 from 9:00 a.m. - 8:00 p.m. Family will be present to greet friends from 6:00 p.m. - 7:00 p.m.
