William Reford Raper, age 92, died Wednesday, April 5, 2006, at an Oklahoma City
hospital after a short period of declining health.
He was born Dec. 21, 1913, in Milburn to Arthur and Maggie (Peeler) Raper and
grew up in the Milburn area. He lived most of his adult life in Oklahoma and
moved to Wheatland in 1959. He worked many years for the city of Oklahoma City
retiring as a supervisor in the maintenance department. He was a member of
Wheatland United Methodist Church.
He was preceded in death by his parents, his wife, Anna Lee, daughter and
son-in-law Carole Jean and Bill Carson, and one great-great-grandson, Parker
Allen Koepke.
Survivors include one daughter Marlene June Garner and husband Del of Galt,
Calif., seven grandchildren, 12 great-grandchildren and 17
great-great-grandchildren.
In lieu of flowers the family requests donations be made to R.O.O.F. (day refuge
for the homeless), P.O. Box 1067, Enid, OK 73702.
Services are scheduled for 10 a.m. Monday, April 10, 2006, in the Chapel of the
Good Shepherd at McNeil’s Mustang Funeral Service, Mustang, with interment
following in the El Reno Cemetery, El Reno, OK. (Paid Obit 4-8-1)
