Burial will be in El Reno Cemetery under the direction
of Russworm Funeral Home, Watonga.
He was born September 19, 1965, and died Thursday, May 9, 1996. He was a
1984 graduate of Booker T. Washington High School and attended Redlands
Community College for two years. He served in the military and spent time in
Saudi Arabia.
He joined the Oklahoma City Police Department in 1989. Among other services,
he played a major part in the rescue operation following the bombing of the
Murrah Federal Building in Oklahoma City, and was to receive honors for his
actions on May 11.
He was a life member of the VFW of El Reno.
He is survived by his biological mother, Almar Tarazi of Enid; his father,
James Carmen of Plano, Texas; three sisters, Vickie Yeakey Jones of El Reno,
Lashem Hargrave of Langston, and Mary Bills of Kansas City, Missouri; two
brothers, Leslie Yeakey of El Reno, and Kenneth Brown of Muskogee; two
daughters, McKenna and Sherian Yeakey, both of Oklahoma City; and one son,
Brandon Yeakey of Del City; grandparents, Mary Kuykendall of Perkins and the
Rev. James J. Brown of Omaha, Nebraska; and other relatives and friends.
He was preceded in death by his adoptive parents, Larkow and Juanita Yeakey,
one sister, and his grandparents.
