Jerome Patrick (J.Pat) Scheer passed away October 15, 2020.

He was born February 1, 1960 in Duncan, OK and is preceded in death by his parents James and Lorene (McGoffin) Scheer. 

He is survived by his sister CeAnn, brother in-law Allen Morton and his two nephews Luke and Sam Morton. Jerome was retired. For 15 years he owned/ran Bearz 3020 club, a neighborhood beer bar and prior a Social Worker for the OK Department of Human Services.

Jerome was an active member of his community, being one of the founders of Pride Parade in Oklahoma City along with being a founding member of Red Earth Bears. Most recently, a member and leader of the men’s social group Central Oklahoma Prime-timers. He grew up in Duncan, OK and graduated from high school in 1978. He attended Saint Gregory‘s University and then to Conception Seminary in Missouri.  He earned a BA in sociology from Central State University.  Jerome was an alter boy and received all of his holy sacraments at Assumption Catholic Church including being the first baby baptized in the new church. In his earlier adult life, was an active member of Dignity with St. Philip Neri Catholic Church. He traveled the country with a rollercoaster club and visited 47 states. Jerome was a selfless human being and good soul that was always willing to help others. He loved his family and friends deeply and will indeed be missed. The family would like to thank the staff at St. Anthony’s Hospital, Fresenius Dialysis Center, Global Health, Interim Health Care and Louis Wells for the loving compassionate care given to Jerome.
 

Visitation will be 2:00 PM to 8:00 PM, Thursday, October 22, at Matthews Funeral Home. 

A mass of Christian burial will be 2:00 PM, Friday, October 23, at St. Charles Borromeo Catholic Church, in Warr Acres, Oklahoma.
