Jim LaFoe age 72, of Purcell, OK formerly of El Reno, OK passed away Monday, January 18, 2016 at the Purcell Municipal Hospital.
Louis James LaFoe was born on April 15, 1943 in El Reno, Oklahoma. He was the second of eight children born to Raymond Joseph LaFoe and Mary Ann (Skoch) LaFoe. Jim grew up as a farm boy in the El Reno area. He attended and graduated from Sacred Heart High School in El Reno, OK in 1961. That same year he joined the U. S. Army and proudly served his country for two years during the Cuban Missile Crisis. After being honorably discharged he returned home to El Reno where he later met the love of his life. On Nov. 28, 1964 he married Glenda Jo Bloodworth of El Reno. Together they made their home in El Reno and raised two children, Darren and Julie Ann. Jim worked all of his life as a self-employed Welder. He could make and weld just about anything. He and Glenda moved to Colorado in 1993 to be close to their son Darren and his family. After Glenda passed away in 2006, Jim moved back to El Reno, the place he called home. Because of his failing health in 2011 he moved to Purcell to be close to Darren and his family again. Jim loved his family and especially his grandchildren. He also had two dogs that he adored very much. He had an outgoing personality and one of his favorite things to do after he retired was drinking coffee with his friends. He had few hobbies other than watching sports on TV, however his favorite teams were the Oklahoma Sooners and the Denver Broncos.
