Ray Eugene Ables was born February 20, 1936, in Banner, Oklahoma, to Albert and Delphia (Pollard) Ables. He passed from this life September 17, 2013, in Antlers, Oklahoma, at the age of 77. 

Ray had lived in the Antlers area most of his life. He was an entrepreneur in the real estate and restaurant industries. Ray married Carol Fay Turpin on August 28, 1988, in Mena, Arkansas, and they had enjoyed 25 years of marriage. 

Ray was preceded in death by his daughter: Diane Ables; father: Albert Ables; mother: Delphia (Pollard) Ables; brother: John Gaulf; grandparents: Ellick & Arlaney Ashley and Avery & Waverly Ables. 

He is survived by his wife: Carol of the home; daughters: Ladonna Young & husband of Cleburne, TX, Laura Taylor & husband of Antlers, Debbie Atkinson of Oklahoma City, OK, Becky Atkinson of Oklahoma City, OK; sons: Donald Ables of El Reno, OK, Terry Ables & wife of Antlers, and Arron Muir & wife of El Reno, OK; grandchildren: Teddy Ray Young of Cleburne, TX, Christy Young of Cleburne, TX, Cynthia Burnett & husband of Cleburne, TX, Donita Welch & husband of Piedmont, OK, Sara Ables Tackett & husband of Calumet, OK, Tyler Ray Ables & family of El Reno, OK, Anthony John Wesley Ables of Antlers, Jesse James Ray Ables of Antlers, Ashley Tilschner of Oklahoma City, OK, Soshona Adams & husband of Oklahoma City, OK, Jeremiah Taylor of Antlers, Randy Taylor of Dallas, TX, Seth Bomhoff of Oklahoma City, OK, and David Chase Muir of Yukon, OK; 12 great-grandchildren; brother: Doug Smith of Antlers; sister: Vonda Blair of Moyers, OK; as well as many other relatives and friends.
