Billy Mae Chadwick was born May 19, 1945, in Poteau, Oklahoma, to William and Alvessie Nelson. She passed away July 28, 2021, in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma.

Billy graduated from Hinton High School, class of 1964. She worked various jobs throughout her life. She made many friends while working at Daylight Donuts and at her nursing home jobs. Above all she loved caring for her family and was a devoted wife and mother to her children.
On September 3, 1965, she married Alton Gail Chadwick in El Reno, Oklahoma. From their union came two children, Michael Gail and Lisa Gayle. Following their marriage, they later moved to Enid, OK, until Gail's retirement in 2007; they then moved to Bokoshe, OK, to live in the country and raise farm animals and have a garden for their retirement years. The two of them enjoyed being outside together. Billy loved when Gail would grill and the two of them would sit out on the back porch.
Billy enjoyed listening to music (especially Elvis Presley), shopping, playing Yahtzee, and watching old westerns. She loved playing with her dog, Ofi. Above all Billy loved her family, she enjoyed spending time with them, and loved to cook Thanksgiving and Christmas dinner for them. She always looked forward to the Christmas season. She was most certainly a Christian, and she read her Bible.

Billy is survived by her daughter, Lisa Gayle Chadwick; sisters, Betty Black and Patsy Mills; grandsons, Krystian Chadwick, Sheldon Chadwick, Jayden Chadwick, and Lenny Carlton; granddaughter, Josie Mae Carlton; and numerous nieces, nephews, and beloved friends.

She is preceded in death by her husband, Alton Gail Chadwick; son, Michael Gail; parents, William and Alvessie Nelson; brothers, Delbert Nelson, Homer Nelson, and Charlie Nelson.

A funeral service to honor the life of Billy will be held at 10:00 a.m. Monday, August 2, 2021, at Wilson Funeral Home Chapel.

Burial will follow in the El Reno Cemetery.

Viewing will be held Sunday, August 1, from 1:00 p.m. - 6:00 p.m.
