James Daniel "Danny" Trent

 James Daniel “Danny” Trent was born on September 4, 1954, in Geary, Oklahoma, the third child of Ruby Miller Trent Paulk and David Trent.

He grew up in Yukon, Oklahoma and graduated from Yukon High School in 1972, where he was a track star and held the school record for many years.

Danny married Nancy Lowe and to this union was born James Daniel Trent, Jr. and Michael Dewey Trent.

Danny enjoyed motorcycles and custom built his own bike. He listened to Classic Rock music of the 70’s, and was an avid Thunder Basketball and OU football fan. He loved being a grandfather to Brayden, Jaxson, Garrett, and new granddaughter, Josephine. G-Pa especially enjoyed babysitting and snuggling baby Jo-Jo. Danny had a big heart, and was a very kind and easy going man. He was always happy and optimistic. He had a contagious laugh, and loved to laugh, even to himself, while watching TV. His wonderful warm loving spirit can be seen in his sons and grandchildren. He passed on his love of classic rock to his sons, who still enjoy it today. Danny spent many evenings with Mike and Anna listening to old records on the turntable. He purchased Jim’s first custom built guitar, encouraging a talent that Jim still enjoys today.

Lucky, a husky mix, was Danny’s constant companion. Danny and his pal, Lucky, sat side by side on the sofa watching TV.

For over thirty years, Danny worked for Freightliner as a diesel mechanic and his picture was recently featured on their highway billboard on I-40. He had a strong work ethic and was a good provider for his family.

Danny passed away on February 28, 2015 at the age of sixty at his home in Yukon. He will be missed dearly but will remain in our hearts always.

Danny leaves behind a loving family: his son, Jim Trent and wife Jen, three grandsons, Brayden, Jaxson and Garrett of Edmond, OK; his son, Mike Trent and wife Anna, granddaughter, Josephine, of the home in Yukon, OK; Nancy Trent of Oklahoma City, OK; one brother, Dwight Trent and wife Antonieta of Mustang, OK; one sister, Debbie Noack and husband Tim of Austin, TX; his mother, Ruby Paulk of Yukon, OK; and many nieces, nephews, and a host of family and friends. Danny was preceded in death by his father, David Trent.

Services will be Friday, March 6, 2:00pm at Mercer-Adams Chapel with interment in Calumet Cemetery.
