Lester Lavern Rumley

Funeral services for Lester LaVerne Rumley, 80, of Chickasha, will be held Monday, August 15, 2005 at 10 a.m. at the Springcreek Baptist Church in Cogar.

Rumley was born Oct. 23, 1925 at Cogar to Joseph Thomas and Marie (Pugh) Rumley. He died Thursday, August 11, 2005 in Chickasha.

Services are under the direction of Huber-Reynolds Funeral Home of Minco.

Lester Lavern Rumley

Funeral services for Lester Lavern Rumley, 80 of Chickasha were held Monday, August 15, 2005, 10:00 am at the Springcreek Baptist Church at Cogar with Rev. Rodger Willis of the Springcreek Baptist Church officiating.

Lester LaVern Rumley was born October 23, 1925 at Cogar to Joseph Thomas and Marie (Pugh) Rumley and died Thursday, August 11, 2005 at his home in Chickasha.

Lester married Barbara Jean Gordon on July 2, 1947 at Anadarko. They moved to Verden in 1968, lived there 38 years upon moving to Chickasha. He served in the United States Navy as a Seaman First Class during WWII and worked as a roughneck in the oilfield most of his life. He was a member of the Springcreek Baptist Church.

He was preceded in death by his parents: Joseph and Marie Rumley; one son: Jerry Lynn Rumley; one son-in-law: Glenn Parret; two sisters: Bertha Kinsey and Mattie Smith; also two sets of twin brothers.

He is survived by his wife Barbara of the home in Chickasha; two daughters and son-in-law: Aline and Jimmie Don Woods of Union City and Gwen Parret of Yukon; four sons and two daughters-in-law: Larry and Shelly Rumley of Cogar, Terry and Anita Rumley of Cement, Richard Rumley of Verden, and Lloyd Rumley of Hartshorne, Oklahoma; 18 Grandchildren; 15 Great Grandchildren.

Burial in Springcreek Cemetery under the direction of Huber-Reynolds Funeral Home of Minco.

Services for Jerry Lynn Rumley, 40 of Chickasha were held Tuesday, April 12, 2005 at 10:00 a.m. graveside in the Springcreek Cemetery, Minco. Officiating will be Rev. Whitley of the Verden Assembly of God Church.

Services are under the direction of Huber-Reynolds Funeral Home of Minco.

Graveside services for Jerry Lynn Rumley, 40 of Chickasha were held 10:00 am Tuesday, April 12, 2005 at the Springcreek Cemetery-Minco with Rev. Whitley of the Verden Assembly of God Church officiating.

Jerry Lynn Rumley was born March 4, 1965 at Oklahoma City to Lester Laverne and Barbara Jean [Gordon] Rumley and died Sunday, April 10, 2005 at his home in Chickasha.

Mr. Rumley lived in the Verden community until 1989 at which time he moved to Chickasha. He was Pentecostal in faith and worked as an automotive mechanic.

He was preceded in death by one brother-in-law Glenn Parret.

He is survived by parents: Lester and Barbara Jean Rumley of Chickasha; one son: Craig Smith; one daughter: Amber Rumley of Marlow; two sisters: Aline and Jimmie Don Woods of Union City, Gwen Parret of Yukon; four brothers: Larry and Shelly Rumley of Cogar, Terry and Anita Rumley of Cement, Richard Rumley of Verden, Lloyd Rumley of Hartshorne, Oklahoma; and host of relatives and friends.

Interment in Springcreek Cemetery-Minco under the direction of Huber-Reynolds Funeral Home in Minco.
