Thornton Services Are Held At Eakly

Eakly -- Funeral services were held March 20 for Mrs. Nora Belle Thornton in the Eakly high school auditorium, with Rev. Leroy Sanders officiating, assisted by Rev. H.H. Palmer, Oklahoma City, and Rev. H.C. Lonis of O'Donnell, Texas. Burial was in the Fairview cemetery.

Nora Belle Lasley was born January 27, 1926, near Colony and died March 18 after a long period of illness in the Clinton Sanatorium.

She was an Eakly highschool graduate and attended nurses' training school in Tulsa.

She was married to Wayne D. Thornton March 15, 1947. To this union was born four daughters.

Mrs. Thornton was a member of the Assembly of God church at Eakly.

Survivors include the husband and four small daughters, Davidian Noreen, Faith Lavern, Rachel Ann and Theresa Gail, all of the home; her parents, Mr. and Mrs. George Lasley; one brother, Estel Lasley; two grandmothers, Mrs. C.B. Lasley and Mrs. J.C. Klein and a host of other relatives and friends.

Pallbearers were: Mitchell Freeman, Floyd Davis, Jack Smith, Eugene King, E.A. Lee Jr., and Roy Thiessen, Honorary pallbearers were: Raymond Cox, Bedford Smith, Elga Lee, Lester Clear, Jim Bishop, Arlin Tipton, Jack Ellzey, Armon Lee, Everett Chambers and Chester Coulter.
