© Carnegie Herald Carnegie, Oklahoma Wednesday,October 6, 1937 1936 ~ 1937 Burns Are Fatal To Year-Old Child Funeral services for Peggy Ann Stevens, year old granddaughter of Mr. and Mrs. Gee Kendrick, were held at the Fairview church northeast of Colony Saturday at 2 o'clock. She died in a Ponca City hospital Thursday as a result of burns received Tuesday of last week when she pulled a cup of boiling water which her mother had set on a table, over her. She was burned on the face, arms and body. Rev. T.T. Brown, minister of the Christian church of Apache, preached the funeral sermon and burial was made in the Fairview cemetery. Peggy Ann Stevens, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Frank Stevens of Ponca City, was born August 19, 1936 at Thomas, Okla., died September 30, 1937 at Ponca City, aged 1 year, 1 months and 11 days. Besides her parents and grandparents, she is survived by one brother, Stacy Bob, and her grandmother, Mrs. Frank Stevens of Thomas. |
