© Lincoln Courier February 2, 1950 John Henry Younkers ATLANTA FARMER FOUND DEAD AT HOME WEDNESDAY ATLANTA~The body of J.H. Younkers, 75, of near Atlanta, was found at 5:30 pm Wednesday in the sheep barn at his home there. His daughter, Mrs. Leota Sadler, found her father, who apparently died suddenly. Mr. Younkers and a small grandson, John Henry Sadler, were gathering eggs at the Younker farm when the man died. The body was taken to the Tuttle Funeral Home in Atlanta, Illinois where services will be at 2:30 pm Friday. Burial will be in Fort Cobb, Okla. Mr. Younkers was born Aug. 13, 1874, in Eminence township, son of John and Catherine Thomas Younkers. He married Elizabeth Stewart in January of 1896, in Peoria. She preceded him in death. Surviving are his daughter and grandson. |
© Lincoln Evening Courier Friday, December 19, 1947 Elizabeth Alberta [Stewart] Younkers ELIZABETH YOUNKERS FUNERAL IN ATLANTA ATLANTA~The funeral of Mrs. Elizabeth Stewart Younkers, 75, who died Thursday at her home in Eminence township, was at 2:30 pm Friday at Tuttle Funeral home in Atlanta, Illinois with the Rev. I. H. Beckholt of Lincoln officiating. The body will be taken to Fort Cobb, Okla. for burial in Hopewell cemetery. Mrs. Younkers was born March 17, 1872, in Eminence township, daughter of William and Christina Johnson Stewart. She married John Henry Younkers in January 1886, in Peoria. In 1901 they moved to Oklahoma and returned to Illinois in 1924, to the present farm home. She is survived by her husband; a daughter, Mrs. Leota Sadler at home, and one grandchild. Mrs. Younkers was a member of the Eminence Christian church. |
