© Shawnee News Star Shawnee, Oklahoma April 3, 2012 April 16, 1943 ~ April 1, 2012 SHAWNEE, Okla. — Shawnee resident James M. Prince, 68, passed away Sunday, April 1, 2012, in a local hospital. James was born April 16, 1943, in Anadarko to Ben and Aline Davis. He attended Anadarko schools. From August 1964 to February 1966, he served in the U.S. Army, and on June 9, 1972, he married Nita Griffith. Jim worked in sales and maintenance at White Lumber for 21 years, as well as being a contractor and carpenter and working for Cado Electric. He was a member of Oklahoma Wood Turners Association. Jim's love for his family was first in his life. He liked to travel with his wife and liked spending time at his lake home. He had a passion for his wood turning and carving, flowers and gardening. Jim was preceded in death by his parents, Ben and Aline Davis; brother, Ron Prince; and sister, Shirley Alkire. Survivors include his wife, Nita; son and daughter-in-law, Monty and Jenny Prince; daughter, Angel Jones; granddaughters, Courtney Jones and Haleigh Jones; grandsons, Denver Prince, Zackery Prince, and Jaxon Prince; brothers, Chuck Davis and Robby Davis and his wife, Anna; sisters, Norma Taylor, Beverly and Larry Wilkins, and Becky and John Stotts; brother-in-law and sister-in-law, Ron and Gaitha Crews; and numerous aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, and cousins. Memorial services will be at 11 a.m., Thursday, April 5, at Oak Park Church of God with Leroy Kerbo and Ron Crews officiating, under the direction of Walker Funeral Service. |
