Minco, Oklahoma June 2015 March 4, 1925 ~ June 25, 2015 Klusmeyer, Calvin C., 90, building contractor, died June 25. Services 1 p.m. Tuesday, John M. Ireland Funeral Home, Moore OK. Calvin Clarence Klusmeyer, 90 of Minco, OK, passed away on June 25, 2015 at his home. Calvin was born on March 4, 1925 in Eakley, Oklahoma to Carl Joseph and Lucy Ella Klusmeyer. Calvin attended school in Binger OK. He then heard his country call and served in the United States Army, serving in France and Germany during WWII. Calvin worked as a truck driver and in the oil field in Odessa, TX. He moved back to Tonkawa and lived in Old Pow Camp, then to Blackwell, where he worked at Zink Smelter, then moved back to Tonkawa and worked as a carpenter/building contractor. He moved to Minco, OK in 1972. He drove a truck cross country until 1990 when he retired at age 65. After retirement he raised cattle and did light farming. Calvin is survived by his wife of 72 years, Melva Klusmeyer of the home; 4 children, Barbara Amos and husband Carl of Norman, Jerry Klusmeyer and wife Lois of Minco, Patricia Patterson and husband Jim of Ponca City and Mary Ann Rowe and husband Bruce of Ponca City; 13 grandchildren, 20 great grandchildren, and 2 great great grandchildren; 1 sister, Gladys Brown; 1 brother-in-law, Albert Metheney; 4 sister-in-laws, Betty Klusmeyer, Shirley Klusmeyer, Marie Davis and Lula Metheney; and many nieces, nephews and other loving family and friends. He is preceded in death by his parents, 4 brothers, Jake, Carl, Clifford, and Archie Klusmeyer; 4 sisters, Gertrude Anderson, Gussie Gregory, Grace Hula, and Gladys Brown. Funeral Services are 1:00 PM, Tuesday, June 30, 2015 at John M. Ireland Funeral Home and Chapel, located at 120 S. Broadway, Moore, OK. Interment will follow at 4:00 PM, at Binger-Murray Cemetery in Binger, OK. Services are under the direction of the John M. Ireland and Son Funeral Home and Chapel. |
© Carnegie Herald Minco, Oklahoma February 2017 August 20, 1927 ~ February 17, 2017 MINCO Klusmeyer, Melva Jean, 89, homemaker, died March 17. Services 2 p.m. Thursday, John M. Ireland Funeral Home, Moore OK. Melva Jean [Belt] Klusmeyer passed away peacefully to be with her Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, on Friday, March 17, 2017, in Ponca City, Oklahoma, at the age of 89, after an extended decline due to dementia, complicated by illness and stroke. Melva was born August 20, 1927, in Ozark, Arkansas, sixth of ten children born to Art Belt and Lottie [Nickols] Belt. The family moved to Oklahoma when Melva was a young girl and lived in the Cogar and Binger areas. Melva married Calvin Klusmeyer on June 26, 1943. Their life together spanned 72 years until Calvin’s death in 2015. Melva and Calvin moved to Tonkawa and Blackwell in the early 1950’s, and remained there until their children were grown. They then moved back to Cogar, purchasing the same farm Melva and her family had lived on as a child. With the exception of a few years, Melva and Calvin spent cross-country trucking, they lived on that farm until Calvin’s death. Melva enjoyed living in the country, growing a garden, tending her flowers and fish pond. She loved her family and enjoyed family gatherings. Melva was preceded in death by her parents; four sisters; four brothers; her husband, Calvin; and her daughter, Patricia. Melva is survived by one sister, Lola Melhney & husband, Albert; two sisters-in-law, Gladys Brown and Betty Klusmeyer; three daughters, Barbara Amos and husband, Carl and Janice Irvin and husband, Warren; Mary Ann Rowe and husband, Bruce; one son, Jerry Klusmeyer & wife, Lois; 19 grandchildren; and 20 great-grandchildren. Funeral Services for Melva will be held at 2:00 PM, Thursday, March 23, 2017, in the chapel of the John M. Ireland Funeral Home, located at 120 South Broadway, in Moore, Oklahoma. Interment will be at 4:30 PM, at the Binger Cemetery, in Binger, Oklahoma. Services are under the direction of the John M. Ireland Funeral Home & Chapel. |
