© The Chickasha Express-Star Chickasha, Oklahoma October 1, 2000 October 25, 1910 ~ September 28, 2000 Lois Harmon Helm was born October 25, 1910 to Wesley and Lena [Stone] Harmon at Ringwood, Oklahoma. She passed away Thursday, September 28, 2000 at the Presbyterian Hospital in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma at the age of 89. Lois graduated from Enid High School. She received her Bachelor and Master Degree from Oklahoma University. Lois married Paul Millard Helm August 20, 1935 at Anadarko, Oklahoma. Owned and operated Helm Grocery. She taught the 1st Grade at Binger School for 30 years, and other surrounding rural schools including Lookeba-Sickles. Lois belonged to the Retired Teachers Association. She was a member of the Binger Congregational Church for 64 years, and was a longtime member of the Binger Garden Club. She was preceded in death by her husband, Paul Millard Helm, her parents, Wesley and Lena Harmon, two sisters, Pearl Fuller and Pauline Harmon Marvin, and one brother, Aubrey Harmon. Survivors include: several nieces and nephews including Vivian Butts of Fort Worth, TX, Shirley Olsen of Phoenix, AZ, and Jerry Helm of Chickasha, OK; great nieces and nephews, Keith and Patrick Kelley, Curtis and Cheryl Butts, and Derick and Kevin Helm; and numerous other nieces and nephews, other relatives and friends. In lieu of flowers send donations to your favorite charity or the Oklahoma Medical Research for Cancer. Services will be at Binger Church of God, 2:00 P.M., Tuesday, October 2, 2000, in Binger, Oklahoma. Officiating are Rev. Marty Ingram and Rev. Jake Hicks. Burial will be in Murray Cemetery, Binger, Oklahoma, under the direction of the Turner Funeral Home, Binger, Oklahoma. |
