© Carnegie Herald Carnegie, Oklahoma Wednesday, April 17, 1957 December 6, 1904 ~ April 9, 1957 Binger - Services were held at 2 p.m. Wednesday in the Baptist church at Binger for Jewell Arthurs, who died Tuesday, April 9, in the Sequoia hospital in Fresno, Calif. Mr. Arthurs had been a resident of Caddo county for many years. He was born in Illinois in 1904. He was preceded in death by his mother and two brothers, Ernest and Harold. Survivors include the wife, Edna, of Oklahoma City; two daughters, Mrs. Florence Mendell, Oklahoma City and Mrs. Edna Duncan, Kingfisher; a son, Theodore, Clovis, Calif.; his father, John N. Arthurs, Delano, Calif.; five brothers; four sisters; and nine grandchildren. |
Binger, Oklahoma June 2016 December 13, 1940 ~ June 24, 2016 Wanda H. Arthurs was born on December 13, 1940 Indianola, OK. She passed away on June 24, 2016 in Oklahoma City, OK at the age of 75. Wanda grew up in the McAlister, Oklahoma area. She graduated from N.W. Classen High School in Oklahoma City, OK. She married Marvin Moore and the couple moved to Washington state where she worked at Overlake Hospital in Belleview, WA and where they raised their children. Wanda would spend summers traveling with the kids across the United States. She was one of the first female Cub Scout leaders. She moved back to Oklahoma in 1980 and worked for the State of Oklahoma Department of Tourism over 20 years. She loved fishing, playing Bingo, reading, gardening and caring for her flowers [4-O’clocks] even those that she was given by her mother-in-law in the 1950’s that moved with her throughout the country. She married Bruce Arthurs in June 1998 in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma. She enjoyed spending time researching her genealogy. She loved her pets, Mabel, her Guinea pig and her dog, Winston. She was a kind woman and good mother. Survivors Include: her husband, Ralph Bruce Arthurs of OKC, OK; her children: Marty Moore of Oklahoma City, Oklahoma, Robert William Moore of Fall City, Washington, David Keith Moore of Samish, Washington and Victoria Gail Moore of Everett, Washington, her sisters; Delores Moore and Linda Sue Galliger, seven grandchildren and numerous great-grandchildren, as well as a host of other relatives and friends.
