© The Chickasha Express-Star Tuesday, 12 June 2007 David L. Williams David L. Williams, 82, was born July 28, 1924 in Stecker, Oklahoma to Jake and Nellie [Wolf] Williams. He passed away from this life on Saturday, June 9, 2007, at his home north of Cyril, Oklahoma. Mr. Williams was raised in Stecker, and was a Golden Gloves boxer, a Pinkerton detective, and owned and operated Williams Dairy Creme in Cyril from 1971 to 1981. He began his oil field career at the age of 17 as a roustabout and roughneck. He retired from American Petro-Fina at the age of 72. He was a member of the First Baptist Church in Cyril, where he had taught Sunday School classes. He and the former Frances L. Dobry-Russell were married there on July 8, 1966. Mr. Williams was preceded in death by his parents, son Steven L. Dobry; four brothers and three sisters. Survivors include his wife of the home; brother Dan Williams and wife Blanche of Salinas, California; daughter, Robin L. (Dobry) Pack of Blanchard; grandchildren Macy (Myers) and Steven Clark, of Cyril; Steven Myers of Cyril; Ehrynn (Pack) and Adam Shephard of Moore; Kim Eddingfield of Mustang; five great-grandchildren; and one great-great-grandson; a former son-in-law, Mark Myers, with whom he shared a close bond and friendship; two daughters from a previous marriage, Phyllis Moni and Tresa Linehan; granddaughter Jeanette Killgore and great-grandchild Desiree Killgore; many nieces and nephews and close friends. Funeral service will be held at 1 P.M. Wednesday, in the Steverson Funeral Home Chapel, with Billy Harmon of Cyril officiating. Burial will follow in Memory Lane Cemetery. Viewing will be from 9 A.M. until 9 P.M. Tuesday, and from 9 A.M. until service time Wednesday. Condolences may be sent to the family via e-mail to steversonfuneralhome@netride.net |
