© The Chickasha Express-Star 5 September 2000 Rozell [Grimes] Lair Wallace Funeral service for Rozell Lair Wallace, age 89, of Verden will be held at 10:30 a.m. on Friday, September 1, 2000, at the First Baptist Church in Verden, Oklahoma. Rev. Johnny Wray will officiate. Rozell was born the daughter of Jake Grimes and Martha (Kemp) Grimes on December 4, 1910, in Tishomingo, Oklahoma. She passed on to be with her heavenly father on August 30, 2000. She married Ted Lair on November 30, 1930. Four children were born of this union. Ted died in September of 1951. She married Charles Wallace in September of 1955. Charles died in December of 1963. Rozell was also preceded in death by her parents, Jake and Martha Grimes. She is survived by children, Don and Marilyn Lair of Plano, Texas, Juanita and Carl Johnson of Grove, Robert and Flora Ann Lair of Midwest City, Barbara and Wirt Brand of Alex; thirteen grandchildren; twenty-two great grandchildren; brother, Dugan Grimes of Anadarko; sisters, Jane Hallock of Globe, Arizona, Eva Carter of Anadarko, Martha and Bill Bemis of Naples, Florida, Bobbie and Don Nelson of Ontario, California. We would like to give thanks and appreciation to Dr. Gary Bond of Oklahoma City for the wonderful way he cared for her. Also to the Sterling House Living Center in Chickasha for helping us take care of her the last two years. Interment will be in the Memory Lane Cemetery in Anadarko. Service will be under the direction of the McRay's Verden Funeral Home. Viewing will be at the Verden Funeral Home in Verden from 9:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m. on Thursday. |
