August 24, 2009 Mary Jane [White] Veltema Mary Jane was born to Laverne Francis [Dollahite] and Doyle Woodrow White, Sr. on December 26, 1939, at Birmingham, AL and departed this life in Tallahassee, FL, on August 24, 2009, at the age of 69 years, 7 months and 29 days. Mary Jane grew up at Antlers, OK, until moving to Anadarko where she graduated from high school [in 1958]. She married Albert Lee "Buddy" Veltema [AHS Class of 1956] on September 19, 1958, at Anadarko. They have made their home in Walters for many years where she retired from the Walters Public Schools. Mary Jane was a member of the Gladiola Club, the Anadarko Riding Club, was a Campfire Girls sponsor and was a member of First Baptist Church in Walters serving many years as the church librarian and as chairman of the decorating committee. She was preceded in death by her parents, Laverne and Doyle White Sr., and her grandparents, Isaac David White, Francis Elizabeth White and John Dollahite. Survivors include her husband Buddy of the home; a daughter, Cheryl Logan of Walters, OK; a son, Chris Veltema of New Orleans, LA; 2 grandchildren, Ty and Jamie Logan of Walters; a sister, Jerrie Ann Wingo of Muskogee, OK; a brother, Doyle White Jr. of Anadarko, OK; other relatives and many friends. Funeral Service: Saturday August 29, 2009, 10:00 a.m. at First Baptist Church, Walters Burial: Saturday August 29, 2009, 2:00 p.m. at Memory Lane Cemetery [Anadarko] |
