© Carnegie Herald Carnegie, Oklahoma Wednesday, June 29, 1932 ~ June 30, 2015 Dawn Marie Stroud, 83, of Amarillo died Tuesday, June 30, 2015. Services will be at 11 a.m. Friday in Cox Funeral Home Benton Chapel with Dr. Robby Barrett officiating. Burial will be at 2 p.m. Monday in Memory Lane Cemetery in Anadarko, Okla. Arrangements are by Cox Funeral Home, 4180 Canyon Drive. Dawn was born June 29, 1932, in Oklahoma City to Otis and Marguerite DeGraffenreid. She was raised in Anadarko, graduating from Anadarko High School in 1950. She married Tommy Stroud on Nov. 10, 1950, in Lake Charles, La. They have celebrated more than 64 years of marriage. Together they moved to Amarillo in 1962. Dawn was a past member of Covenant Presbyterian Church, where she faithfully served in the choir and Sunday school. Most importantly, Dawn devoted her life to caring for and loving her family. She was a fantastic mother to two boys, a doting wife and a loving “Grandmomma” to her grandchildren. She loved nothing more than the company of her family. She was preceded in death by her parents and grandchild, Jay Mark Stroud. Survivors include her husband, Tommy Stroud of Amarillo; two sons, Thomas “Sandy” Stroud and wife Lynn of Amarillo and Mark Stroud and wife Cindy of Cameron; a sister, Cleotis Barton of Oklahoma City; five grandchildren, David Stroud and wife Christine, Shannon Cavalier and husband Tony, Jackie Brooks and husband Colt, Tate Stroud and Lexy Stroud; and seven great-grandchildren. The family suggests memorials be to Amarillo Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals, 11901 S. Coulter St., Amarillo, TX 79119.
